 can i get a converter to use my lap top off 12volt when not on eletric hook up

Go to Ebay and type in ''12v power supply + make and model of your Laptop''.....and get the proper one for the job.

Sorry to deviate from the exact thread topic..

but has anyone any advice as to pay as you go wireless internet?(..I'm thinking that the laptop may come in handy whilst away in the 'van..searching sites/routes etc).

Some friends of ours'(..who have recently "sold up shop" and gone "full time"),have/had  opted for '3'...but they say that it was hopeless,as during the first month or so they could only get connection on 3-4 occasions(..irrespective of where in the country they were!).

Any thoughts,experiences would be appreciated...

Way to  go at the moment is to buy a ''3'' PAYG Dongle package (£10.00 gives you Igb and lasts a month)...unlock it,..... then you can stick any internet access sim card you like in it. It gives you the choice between your preffered providers....Orange - O2 - Vodaphone - BT Internet etc. That way you are not tied into a contract and only need to use it while you are on the road.

I'm using 3 internet at the moment and have been lucky so far  with regards to access..........tell your friend to use a long USB extension cable so that he can move it around in a weak signal area..........or hang it out of a window this can make the difference between getting a signal and not.....sometimes you have to go outside with your phone to make a call....same applies with your Dongle.
