   does anyone know the current situation regarding wild camping in or around blackpool.  seafront or anywhere would do.   Had a few conflicting or out of date opinions on this

I know this is going to sound really daft, but I suggest you ask the Blackpool Police.

I did the same when looking for a place to park my van in Dumfries for 3 nights and I even had the local Bobbies around late at night looking for a cuppa.

I was only too happy to oblige. Afterall, the fact that they were around, meant that no one else bothered me!!!!

I live in Blackpool and I have notice a few Mobile Homes at Starr Gate Car Park (The South end of the Promenade) it is Pay and Display but they dont seem to have a problem, Quite near the Pleasure Beach but far enough out of the centre to avoid the braindead morons as silverwood puts it. I'am not sure of the costs or how long you can stay but the Tram service runs close by so easy transport into the town centre. Enjoy

Just down the road at Cleeveleys you can camp up on the sea front, quite a few stop there regularly.

Also go the other way towards Lytham, and there is a car park just outside Blackpool on the left, there is a row of houses by the side of it and it is virtually on the beach. Some also camp here.
