Sorry to hear of your continuing bad luck with the keys.

If you get no joy removing the cap then you could drill the petrol cap lock out to remove it and then use a temporary cap until you get an aftermarket locking cap. This would be cheaper than buying a cap from the dealer.

Are you a member of the AA or RAC? Maybe a call to them saying the cap is stuck would help. Don't tell them you have had new keys though

Hi Andy, the latest news is i phoned the locksmiths and told them about the petrol cap and they were apologetic and said they would contact a local locksmiths near where hubby is working' and they have 17.so the local man phoned my hubby and said he would try and get to him today or if not then it will be tomorrow,

He will have to stay in the van tonight without leccy if it's not sorted tonight but at least there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

I never thought of phoning the breakdown company, were with GEM this year and haven't had reason to call them out yet, thanks for the tip.

Susan

Susan, glad that things are getting sorted now and at no extra cost to yourself.

Hopefully, that will be the end of it!

I work as a patrol for one the above named outfits and that’s one thing that is guaranteed to not be of any help if you lie to the patrol or don’t tell him the whole story it just makes his job a lot more difficult and why would you do that?

He will do his best but can only do that if he has all the facts
