Can I also add the thought of parking fully laden camper van on a street anywhere for some time may result in it being stolen...ours was stolen (to order the Police think) off our drive in February and we too had left all our camping gear in it, store tent, gaz bottles, ,you name it we'd left it! I'd be very wary of leaving our replacement (12 year old VW Trooper )anywhere on a road overnight now. We've bought a security post and also big steering wheel disc lock plus paid for an alarm. May be a bit paranoid but would hate anyone else to go through what we did...and the expense!

Thanks guys - you are a great help. Liked the first one on ebay you showed me Jules, but it only slept 2... there's always something not quite right I'm finding. And thanks pepe for the link to Japanese importer - it's based in Huntington where I have family so it is well worth a visit. Would be nice to go to a garage actually, then I could get to have a look at a few and even drive one. I know you pay more from garages but you do get a warrranty.

That is horrible, Bridie - you poor things. Where we live though its all Neighbourhood Watch and there are several campers parked on the streets round here, have been for years, without problems as far as I know. However, well worth investing in alarms and steering locks, most definitely.
