We had a Shurflo Water Pump in the motor home (1994) which has broken. It was a 12v 16psi.
Does anyone know if it will be OK to replace it with a Shurflo 12v 30psi as that is all that seems to be available now.
Apparently the psi indicates the water pressure, so I have been told, but no-one I have spoken to knows if it will be a suitable replacement.
Can anyone advise please?
Anne

Hi

There are plenty of 16psi pumps available on ebay. I suspect a  30psi one would be to much for the carver hot water heater to take

Regards

John

Hi i may be wrong but i thought all the pumps were set at the factory at 30 psi, BUT you adjust them to the water pressure related to your conversion, in your case you drop the pressure to 16psi.

Thanks for that, but the one we took out actually states 16psi on the pump, this is why we are checking it would be OK to install a 30psi.
Anyway, thanks for replying and will look into that option.

Hi,Shureflo pumps are available at different ratings.
You will need to replace yours with the same psi as the original.
I found mine on a chandlers(boats) website (sorry) cant remember the web address.
There are many websites for boating parts (as in houseboats/canal boats they use similar accessories to motorhomes and caravans.
have you googled shureflo pumps?

hope this helps
good luck
Peter

You could try ringing  Leisure Accessories Limited  in Norwich - http://www.martex.co.uk/leisure-and-living/s0090.htm
Last time I needed parts (2008) for a Shuflo pump they were very helpful and knowledgeable.
