i have just fitted new rear discs, pads,and handbrake shoes to my m/h. The footbrake works perfectly, and although I adjusted both shoe adjusters after fitting the discs,and the handbrake now only lifts 4 clicks on the ratchet, the handbrake doesn't hold on a steep incline. should i have chamferred the edges of the shoes to allow a snugger fit to the inside surface of the disc/drum?

Sometimes the linkage to the brakes siezes up at the fulcrum so get cracking with WD40 all over whilst operating the brake and if this frees it up follow up with waterproof grease.
