Having problems with the Autocruise control panel fitted to my Peugeot Sarasota motorhome.
Picked up the 2005 'van in August 2010 from Brownhills and have been using it quite often since. However, twice I have had to reset the control panel that controls distribution for both 230v ac and 12v dc battery power.
I understand that the unit switches off 12v supply to the habitation area once the engine has started, but I have had the occasional problem that the unit does not allow 12v to come back on when the engine is switched off, instead I get an intermittent tone and the unit 'reads' something like, "engine started, electrics immobilised" .
I have had to find, remove and replace it's fuse in order for it to work properly, which can be a bit of a pain, as I have to get under the bonnet of the vehicle to do it. This has happened in the dark and cold which caused me to accidentally drop the fuse into the engine department!!!!
I intend to take the vehicle back to Brownhills, but wondered if anyone else has had this problem with their control unit so that I may go to Brownhills forearmed with information that may assist them.
I am well aware of some peoples views on Brownhills , so I want to make sure that it is not just me operating the unit wrongly, and maybe even avoid taking my 'van into them in the first place.
its a common fault with most panels .on mine i remove the cover unscrew the panel uncouple then recouple power ,it reboots unit .if you google the fault there are lots of post on subject.
Yep same here with my Talisman, first trip to Spain 3 years ago' was a nightmare with the panel going off and as above i too remedied by taking it on and off, once to our destination an old bloke told me to take it off and put it in the freezer (please do not laugh it is the truth) for about 10/15 minutes, apparently this does something to the chipped program, in short i have had no more problems with it although sometime through me forgetting to switching it off we have had the bleeps re. the bleeps warning signals but i just stop the engine soon as possible, restart and thats it. Apparently the freezing method was used some years ago with some chipped car radios/stereos that did not turn themselves on or off???

Many thanks for the link dsewell103, my problem unit is very similar.
I have completed the 'surgery', and all is back to normal (for how long!), Everything works as it should, but I have noticed that my leisure battery has not held it's charge as it is showing 10.5v now! One problem after another!!!
I have the battery on charge using the vehicles 230v charging unit, so we will see!
This has saved me a Brownhills visit. Thanks again!
