We did exactly that nearly three years ago and due to several surveys coming back bad we are still living in a motorhome.
We like the life so much we have decided not to buy after several atempts at buying and with the recession and property going down in price might wait another year living in our motorhome seeing the world if you like before settling down again, we are also retired and couldnt do this if we worked but I say enjoy it before you finally settle down as long as you get on with each other as living in close proximity to each other can be taxing sometimes24/7.
We are with the 2 main clubs and we use ukcampsites a lot as there is a lot of campsites available on here and sometimes have found sites on here rather than the 2 main other clubs.
We dont stay 28 days usually and when we have stayed 3 weeks we get itchy feet and want to move on.
As to your frist question, go for it you wont regret it, it may even change your life.
We stored our belongings for 2 years in a secure storage compound before we decided that it was the life for us in case we wanted to go back to living in a house again.
