I agree and disagree with above, for a year i had a 75 amp and an 85 amp linked and had no problems, although i did seek advice from an expert, the answer is you will get away with 10 amps but don't  go above,i then replaced the two with 85 amps leisure/starter batteries as used on barges or boats, and find i can go as low as 10 volts and still bring them back up during the day with my solar panel, you cannot do this with standard leisure battery/ies 12 volts and they are fully discharged.and you run the risk of damaging them beyond their recharging capabilities.

Funny thing I aways thought that you had to have two batteries of the same value linked together for the best performance, wrong ! I went to check the water levels in my van batteries a couple of weeks back and found i had one 85 amp and one 110 amp ?, I do remember replacing a battery about 2 1/2 years ago but i was shore I had two 110s! strange,  But the thing it dose go to show is that two dissimilar batteries will work ok together, as I have never had my leisure go down on me, I have been traveling for month at a time and never plugged into mains, run heating, tv, cooking, lights, computer, etc, my 120 watt solar panels keep all the batteries charged up including my engine battery, Funny old world ain't it.
