I have a new iphone and I'm just loving it. But I think I'm an apps adict !!! Does anyone have any apps they can recommend for travelling. I came acrosss iCampSites apps the other day that someone recommended and it looks like it will be really useful for our 12 month motor home holiday around the UK and Europe. I also have translator apps and one called French Wines. Has anyone got any favourite apps?
Living earth, hill lists, plane finder, star charts, angry bird. These are all fav apps for my iPad but I think you may be able to get some or all of them for iPhone. the visuals in living earth are great, a nice way too look at the weather forecast. Hill lists are great. Gives all the munros, corbets, Grahams in Scotland, all the heights, where they are etc and you can put notes on if you have climbed them. Star chart, again great, tells you what the stars above you are and info about them and plane finder, you can watch all the planes overhead and find out info on the flights etc. Angry birds is purely addictive!
You dont have to buy apps or use ones that Apple say you can have, there is nothing wrong with iCampsites dont get me wrong,,, but you come on to UK Campsite.co.uk and there is a very good site selector on here. Just put a bookmark on your iPhones home page and use that - its free and its very good.
Untill I learnt that iphones were not that brilliant I had both the above and iCampsites on and now on my new much improved Andriod Phone I just have an icon to the UKCampsite.co.uk Site search page (free) and it dishes up the info I need
I know its says UK but I have have found sites in Europe,, well Ireland anyway
If you want to use your iphone with internet access when you come to UK/Europe you will have to look for solutions or it will cost you a fortune. Roaming charges for internet access in Europe are very high. Campsites often have wifi that you pay for or you can get free wifi in some places, ie McDonald's.
