Have you searched around for a Mazda Bongo ? You should be able to pick one up for that sort of money. Have not had one ourselves but came very close and had test drives. Good hunting !

To be honest Sharkie'..£5000 probably isn't going to get you much, when it comes to a vw or professional vito conversion..

As you are only after a dayvan, have you thought of carrying out simple conversion yourself?

A friend of our's had a Bongo and they loved it but to be honest they soon "outgrew" it and sold it for a bigger van..

If you can go slightly larger and are up for a little project, maybe look at something like this?:

Or there's this, which would be a good "starting point"..

I just bought my first Mazda Bongo last weekend and its fantastic !

its not a full conversion as still has 6 seats in the back but it has the auto free top with room to sleep 2 adults in the pop up roof.

I an going to remove the rear seats and add a remoavble kitchen unit then turn the middle row of seat round so they facr backwards and voila a camper in a matter of minutes !

Having been looking all year for a campervan we have just bought a 19 year old autosleeper for that amount. Not perfect but good condition for age. Some of the Bongos are great and you would get a fairly decent one for that amount of money but they are quite basic and more of a 'day' van than a campervan. Not much going in the 'not too old' range for that amount but they are built to last though.
