HI...we staring using our motorhome a few weeks ago, and it's got  Thetford C402 toilet fitted

Just noticed that the flap in the bottom of the toilet (the one that opens up when you swing the flush lever - think it's called the valve blade) has disappeared, and all I can see now is a circular widget that doesn't seem to do anything when you flush.

Anyone heard of this flap disappearing before?...could it perhaps have dropped into the toilet waste tank?

Well,I wouldn't have thought that the actual "blade" would be able to fit through the emptying spout?...

(Homebird..I think your hubby may mean the outer "shutter"...)

I managed to turn the main circular housing to the open position (obvioulsy the previous owners hadn't been too hot on lubricating it!), and found that the blade had actually sheared off and was in the bottom of the tank.

I cleaned it up a bit (it was a bit pongy!) and tried to put it back together - but then contacted one of our local suppliers who managed to find a complete mechanism for £39.

So I've decided to go for that - at least we'll have a nice clean, fresh-smelling  unit now!
