You can get them from Maplins I would think

When we were in Brittany we went everywhere to get one for a guy with a new Tabbert

No success

The next trip (to Scotland) I found a lead by the bins with the plug on  one end and a Thomson TV plug on the other!!

I would consider changing the socket as these are readily available and most accessories come fitted with the cig lighter plug and so you would only need to change one thing rather that a lot ! 

I agree with John, much easier to change the socket than change plugs on everything you buy to run from it.

I got one yesterday "Cigar Lighter Socket with Splash/Dust cover" from my local caravan dealer for £7.99. Its in a tasteful shade of pale beige, to clash nicely with the white 240 volt ones I'm putting in next to it.

Thanks for all your comments, I actually telephoned the guy that I bought the Hymer from and he said he had one of these at home and hes going to post it out to me - Why I did'nt do this in the first place I will never know!!!!  So hopefully I can now just change it over of the mobylsat - slot it in and watch a bit of telly.

Whose idea was it to swap the sockets?

Usually there is a round centre pin that the +ve goes to and a side contact for the earth (usually a spade)

Does it blow the fuse before you plug in?

If so its a short in the socket

If it blows after you plug in it sounds like the appliance is faulty or rated too high for the fuse.
