Just for everyone's Information...

I called and asked what the criteria is for crossing the River severn crossings with a Campervan, at the car rate of what already is a huge £5.70.

I have been told that the criteria is you need the following...

You need to have a Fitted Bed

You need a Cooker & Fridge

Also you require a Toilet area.

Obviously they do not check these details in full, but usually do look through the window to check..

I hope this is of some use to people who will no doubt be travelling across the Bridges.

I thought you packed the Toilet Rolls...!

But only westbound?

You could use the M50 to get home from the NEC.

I use the severn toll on a regular basis, Motorhomes have always been the same price as cars, £5.70 , rises normally in January.

Mine is a 7m , 6 berth Chausson, must admit I've never seen any person check any motorhomes

I live on the opening to the bridge in Chepstow and the last few times the man at the toll gate has looked in the window...

You do only pay westbound...

ive only ever used the inbound bridges when coming north or from London, otherwise its Ross and Monmouth for me

i do have a M6 toll tag i the car, and enjoy seeing the flash cars who have just blasted past me paying by card or cash as i whizz thru at 40mph, no stopping, i use the toll road 5 or 6 days a week heading home

Yeah,I agree..there are many "anomalies" when it come to exemptions/benefits/"handouts" etc..and without "means testing" everything, there always will be...

..having said that,if they did bring in means testing, then a good many pensioners wouldn't be getting the "winter fuel allownce"..

(.. a good deal of which spent on their Christmas wine and sherry shop!  )

Allowances/Benefits have always been the same....everyone gets em if they qualify....you can always return them you know. I doubt anyone will tho' .I will certainly be keeping my Fuel allowance....its the only 1 I get...and is spent already on the first delivery, and 2nd pending of LOGS!

I will be warm at Chriggy and any change will be used to pay tolls from here to wherever....enjoy

its the blatant abuse of the whole disability/mobility/blue badges, etc that sickens me, watch the "disabled" leap out of cars and run into Tescos or Sainsbury's (new cars at that) - how do they scam it?

Did you know that the English get the toll refunded on return home?

Apparently, the winter fuel allowance will only heat my swimming pool for 2 weeks over the winter. It will get me halfway to Australia.

Aren't disabled people allowed to have new cars?
