Hello all, just a post on behalf of my mum and dad who over the past couple of years have shown great interest in my camping adventures, sadly their camping days are over but they would love to join us for a night or two when we are away, so ive found them a Mazda Bongo and they love it! My dad as read the book from cover to cover and my mum as got all the new interior colour scheme sorted,
Now can anybody out there recomend an owners club that would welcome a couple in their 70s and make them welcome at Bongo meets and rallies, they would love to make the most of the Bongo and get ideas for the refit that they have got planned, I intend to get them onto ukcs asap, so if any one can help....that would be great.
Tigermouse beat me to it, bongofury is the place to look for all things bongo. And to whet their appetite re travelling in a bongo have a wee peep at my blog, link above.
Beware of scammers, cheats, liars and conmen on BF.
You'll be persuaded to fit things that are of no value, hear horror stories of the consequences of not fitting certain things. To read lots of the techy stuff on there, you'd wonder why anyone ever bought such unreliable, thirsty, overheating, rust buckets.
There are people claiming to be technical experts who openly post they know nothing technical. But they'll scare you into buying their wares.
BF is no longer a club, it is a sales market place.
Owner in 6th year of said thirsty, overheating, unreliable rust bucket that has given sterling service including trips across Europe. Best vehicle we ever bought. But balanced with modicum of common sense and reason.
Hope your parents don't get ripped off by the Bongo price tag on everything Bongo pushed there. Buy a Bongo from a reputable dealer for a reasonable price and they won't go wrong. Buy cheap, get what you pay for.

Absolute rubbish!!
Have a look at Bongo Fury and decide for yourself. There are lots of club and local meets that cater for all ages. If you see a local meet, just pop along for a chat with the members - that will give you the best information available.
I've had loads of invaluable advice from the members of bongo fury. I have never been persuaded or pressed into buying anything on the forum or the one time we went to a day meet. At the meet I met a lot of like-minded people who were helpful and friendly. I imagine most forums or clubs will have thier "scammers" but I wouldnt dream of tarring everyone with the same brush.
Many thank everyone, i will put them onto Bongofury and let them have a look around the site, and as mentioned i will get them to go along to a day meet and have a chat with other owners. once again many thanks.

Hi all, They already have a bongo i found one very local about 3 weeks ago, its a 2 owner from new 4x4 2.5 litre, that came with a unused side awning with inner bedroom pods. They just need to try it out i thought if they could find a local meet they would get plenty of advice and new friends.
Or maybe it would be better if i borrowed it to try out for them..... after all it's me thats got to fit the keyless unlocking kit and parking sensors to it!
