HI, just arrived at Wareham tourist park, tried to tune in tv with no joy, has always been ok,ish here, just wondering if I now need to change my tv?, I have been using the bush digital freeview receiver box that you fix onto the side, so has my tv now got to be freeview compatable?, my arial is a status 530, just wondering if I should have to change that aswell, I know that all this digital stuff has been in our faces for a while now, but at home I've got cable, so haven't taken much notice, any advice much appreciated
To receive Freeview you need either a digital TV or a Freeview box. As you've got the box your TV doesn't have to be digital. In my bedroom I have an old CRT 14" portable TV with a digi-box and it receives great pictures using just the internal antenna. But it is in direct line of sight to the Wrekin transmitter!
It's probably the status that is the problem, is the 530 the old style omni-directional mushroom one? We had one of those on one of our caravans and used an aerial booster with it to receive digital, in addition to the on board booster.
A lot of people have said they can't get digital with that type of aerial and have changed to a directional one.
I'm assuming other vans on site are getting good reception? I know we can't get reception at all at a lot of sites.

Never had a problem with the 530. The older omidirectional ones were a problem in weaker signal areas but seem to be better now digital rollout is complete. Check you have the aerial pointed at the correct transmitter and it is aligned either vertically or horizontally according to the transmission.
