Is it expensive to use a fridge on gas?

Not on it's own it isn't, what consumes the most gas is the hot water tank heater and the gas fire or anything that produces large amounts of heat.

A lot will depend on the size of the fridge. A large fridge freezer will consume a lot more than the normal under counter fridges. As an example a Thetford N175 consumes about 420g of gas in 24 hours whereas a small one uses about half that. I don't have the figure to hand for Dometic but I expect you can find it on their website.

I have a 11kg cylinder in my motorhome and set off in July for France and Spain we use gas mostly in Aires or wild camping places for the fridge/cooker/grill and a little for hot water and after a fill before leaving and coming back 5 weeks later it is still not empty so very economical for us , not sure if it makes any difference to consumption but it is butane we use and never had a problem with freezing in winter temp. of -8 .

Hope this helps.
