Do you know if they have front struts in stock?

Cheers.

I've been looking at campervans and as a single person really like the look of these but wondered what the insurance was like. ? I just did an online quote which came up at over 2k with Adrian Flux. This was as my only vehicle. I'm a newbie with regard to campers but have been doing extensive research for several months now. Any advice would be great thanks.

I have a Daihatsu Hilet campr that is terrific. There is a Bedfird Bambi in FAcbook Marketplace as I speak that looks to be very good. £3500 if I remember properly. Good luck. Oh my Insurance is no mire than a regular small car. Forgt Flux for Insurancee. Try Principle, or smaller companies who are very competitive.

I am new (13.11.21) to this site and possibly only partly qualify to join. I am in the process of purchasing a Daihatsu Atrai 7 MPV down here in Devon. I purchased from Hepworths in Huddersfield an EXTOL Manual about 3 weeks ago - not cheap but useful / essential. I probaly will keep the vehicle as a 5 seater (the pair of seats had been taken for another vehicle) and may also discard or at least remove the triple seats behind the driver.

When the DVLA eventually give my vehicle a registration I will seriously look for insurance, which, at best, is time consuming as the vehicle - as you all know- being available usually as an import is uncommon.

If anyone can head me in the direction of a reasonable insurer (full no claims, over 70, 2003 Automatic Atrai, please post here - one suggestion was Halifax and Principle but without a DVLA registration I cannot seriously search and registration has taken 6 weeks to date and still nothing!

Welcome to UKCS.
There’s a big backlog at DVLA for various reasons (article in the motoring section of today’s paper) but I don’t understand why you are getting a new registration & why you’re doing it rather than the dealer.
You’ll find several threads about insurance if you use the Search function. We’ve been happy with Saga.

Slightly confusing post by me, thanks for your response by the way, The dealer is registering the vehicle for 1st time since import from Japan, though it's been hanging around on his site for a while, and awaiting a registration is taking a while - 6 - 8 weeks some have suggested. It will be tyhe first time allocated a UK registration but without being on the DVLA database it seems getting a quote is not easy - I'll take your advice re Saga.

Been running my Atrai 7 for three years now, and have found Direct Line are not scared of imports. They covered my Nissan Elgrand for 6 years too. Not cheap- over £500pa, but I'm over 80!. Also, we run our Atrai just for picnics and local touring, on restricted mileage, with the centre row seats out, and a Portaloo in the back! Wouldn't dream of sleeping in it!

I am giving up my Suzuki Carry van to take on this Altrai as my wife is happier with Automatic if , push came to shove, she had to drive it! It is dimension wise almost identical in length, width and height as the 2003 Carry. Hopefully it will prove as reliable.
I take your (useful) point about restricted mileage and seating for 2 is all that is really needed.
I have explored (but not on this site) the ability of a 2003 /4 Altrai to be happy on E10 fuel - all my responses err on the side of E5 but no definitive absolutely 100% accurate response from Daihatsu - have even written to Japan! and know someone who could write in Japanese if necessary!
I'll put Direct Line on my Hit List - Thanks. No, I might dose off to sleep at the wheel but its use will mainly be for local journeys & metal detecting!

Have now managed to get insurance and the vehicle is now DVLA Registered and on the road.
If there's a Daihatsu Atrai 7 out there who is or has converted it to a camper (I shan't be doing this to mine) I would like to get my hands on the Off side and Near side GRP grey Covers that cover the mechanism on the 2nd seat where it slides on the runners - ie when you open the sliding door it covers the mechanism and firments that are part of the seat support.

The other is a query on Lambda sensors for the Atrai - should there be two - one in the vicinity of the manifold and one near to the Cat - input welcome.
Happy New Year
Richard H

You may have seen my post as I too am now an ATRAI Owner, but of the 7str MPV and it is not converted into a Campervan. Your help would be appreciated as prior to import (or maybe by the importer) the exhasust system has been botched and welded. I am very anxious to discover the colour coded wires that come from the Vehicle loom into (I think) a male/female plastic connector and on to the rearmost of the 2 exhaust Lambda Sensors. That is the one a few inches past the Cat heading towards the rear of the vehicle but way before the rear axle. I appreciate that this involves lying on the ground and looking underneath - if the front n/s wheel is up on a kerb things are much easier.
My queries are: Colour of the wires from loom to the connector ?? - colour of the wires from connector to this second rearmost Lambda Sensor. I suspect there are only 2 wires - is this correct?? My vehicle is a 2003 model. Please post here or direct to goldenhammermanatgmail.com
