I'm thinking of buying an electric cool box for our motorhome trip to southern France in August. We have a small fridge that isn't great in the heat so would be looking to use the box primarily for drinks but can't decide if its worth while? Any advice/experience would be greatfully received e.g. can the standard French electric AMP circuit take 2 fridges?
I wouldn't bother mate, if the small fridge is adequate you just have to make sure you are level when pitched up, or you can fit a small fan at the back of the fridge vent ( top one) to help dissipate the heat generated by it, I have done that in mine and we tend to camp in Spain, have a look on ebay for it.
If you are talking about a cheap electric coolbox £40 or so, then they wil only cool to about 18degC below ambient so ok in UK temps of 20deg or so but if you are down in France in 30+ temps then it won't be cold enough to cool your drinks. They don't take much current so ok to run on French low amp ehu.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
