I had the whole front of a brand new caravan ( wash my mouth out with soap)looked like it was pebble dashed. I tried all potions and lotions, only To be told by my very clever father in law to use WD40. Spray a little on the effected area and watch it dissolve, rob with a soft cloth. Then wash with soapy water. The paint work was as good as new.Repeat if stubborn. WD 40 will remove most things off paint work safely. By the way I have no links to WD40. Hope this helps
Thanks for all suggestions. Will try them when i can figure out how to get to the spots as they are out of reach even on steps being over the top of the cab.
The best stuff you can use is Autosmart Tardis but it's normally only sold in large containers. Some unscrupulous sellers sell it on ebay in smaller bottles. AutoFinesse Obliterate comes in a smaller bottle and also works.
As huggy says WD40 tends to shift most stuff,so worth a try...and it's something that most folk tend to have in the shed/garage.
Although what ever the stains are ,I'd try an get rid of them sooner rather than later because I left some deposits/marks on the roof of a previous van and when I finally got around to getting stuck in to removing them properly, they had left a stain, which I couldn't even T cut out....
I am begining to think the same Memories.Spots are on top of cab, nowhere else.Virtually round and size wise are approx thumb nail size down to a carpet tack size.Unlike tar which is sticky these spots break up into dust when disturbed.ie scratched with fingernailToo many to remove this way and frightened of scratching paintwork.
