I'm trying to establish what the payload is on my motorhome. I know you subtract the Mass In Running Order (MIRO) from the Maximum Technically Permissible laden Mass (MTPLM) but I cant establish what these are from the plate under the bonnet of my Elddis Autocirrus Peugeot Boxer. The plate reads as follows
5400kg Gtw, gross train weight, max weight of van & trailer together if you are towing.
1750kg, max front axle weight.
1900kg, max rear axle weight.
For your payload put van onto weighbridge as you drive it, ie with gas bottles & spare wheel but with no personal gear in, ie Miro. The difference between that weight & 3400kg Gvw(Mtplm) is your payload. If your payload is insufficient it may be possible to uprate(ie increase)your 3400kg Mtplm. If you passed your driving test after 1997 you are limited to vehicles under 3.5 tonnes Gvw until you pass another test.
