We're going to France in our 1984 vw T25 campervan in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there were any spare parts that would be advisable to carry around in the van?
Thanks
You posted this on the camping abroad forum, so ive copied my earlier response here:
Hi
As a former T25 owner I think it's a good plan, as is the case for classic vehicles generally. I'm not technically minded - I'd suggest you go to the 80 90 forum as they have covered this topic a few times. They have actually produced a list of parts and bits you may want to consider taking with you. 80 90 is the internet bible as far as the T25 is concerned. Getting spares after a breakdown abroad is likely to be more time consuming than with modern vehicles so if you can pre empt this then great.
We visited France seven times in a 1971 Citroen DS and it never blinked......went once in aT25 and it conked out. I heve to say it was my fault and it was avoidable. T25's are regular visitors to France and I'm sure it will be fine. I actually miss ours and certainly wouldn't rule out getting another.
Enjoy!
