Can anyone give me any advice on the need to or the easiest way to renew the seals around the van. Some look split and clearly are not water tight. I guess the key thing for me to understand is how easy is this to do yourself and is the mastic specific for vans and/or where do I get it from.

Plenty of experience with showers

So is this the same?

What van? What seals?
Most are easy enough to do - I would recommend the Sikaflex range of adhesives/sealants. They are a bit more money, but well worth it. Sikaflex 512 seems a very popular one.
