Hi, I have just bought two swivel seats from a Ford Galaxy and would like them fitted into my Renault Traffic, it currently has the drivers seat and a double passenger seat.
Does anyone know anywhere I can take them to be fitted!

Ooops! Sorry...Ignore me,for some reason, I had answered a TOTALLY different question?!?      Most odd!

But as I'm here.. I would've thought that a decent fabricator would be able to sort it out...?

Adapting seats from another vehicle to fit usually involves removing runners from existing seats & new seats then fitting old runners to new seats. Could be a problem if you want to replace a double seat with single though. Usually requires welding & your small local garage could probaly do the job.

Thanks, been to local garage they say they don't really want to touch it as it's a safety issue. I have seen there are places that will do it in the past, just can't find them.

Yes thats a good point, garages often won't do non standard modifications for reasons you state. Doing seat changes is normally mostly diy. You get the runners off both sets of seats, do the measurements & then take the seats either to a friend with a welder or a small worshop & give 'em a 'drink' for doing it.

You really need to do a 'dry run' first to check everything lines up & seats are correct height.

How about a body shop?

Regarding the safety issue, I had a swivel mechanism put in a Trafic van by a friend who put it on a wooden base. When I took it in for MoT they failed it as it has to be on a metal base.

Have you heard of the Renault Trafic Motorhome Register? We have members who have done all sorts of modifications and I'm sure somebody could give you some advice.
