We are in the process of planning our summer trip to France and are heading through Normandy and Brittany over a couple of weeks in our van en-route to a week in a gite in the Loire Valley.
Can't decide if we ought to book all our sites in advance or if it is ok to be a bit more laid back and just take a list of places that we fancy and turn up on spec. We've booked a couple of places....but in Southern Brittany would we be better booking...or will we generally find something? We prefer quieter places and aren't really interested in pools and water slides!
Interested to hear about others experiences/recommendations.
No need to book in early July & even in peak season 4wks from mid Jul its only the big expensive family sites that get full, you will always find a place on a smaller site.
you should have no trouble in early july plenty of pitches, we found a lovely municiple site opposite the university in nantes with a tram stop outside direct to city center,
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
