We have AA cover so I don't know about anyone else. I can't remember what it cost but I know it was a lot less than a single call out charge of the French motorways.
If you have UK breakdown cover with AA already then cheapest option way well be just upgrading cover to European. If your UK breakdown is with another company then upgrade that to European. When your vehicle insurance comes up for renewal & you want to go to Europe in future you will probably find its cheapest to take out UK/Europe breakdown cover with your vehicle insurance.
