 Has anybody got any information on driving with insulin dependent diabetes? My wife's licence is restricted to 3.5 tonnes due to her diabetes. We currently run a Autotrail Cheyenne at 3.4 tonnes. We want to get a larger van with a fixed bed, but this will increase to total weight to over 3.5 tonnes. I have read on the Diabetes UK web site that you can apply for a concesion to renew the 7.5 tonne limit. Has anybody out there any info on this.      Many thanks  Graham & Jill.

I think an anonymous phone call to the DVLA is in order on your question involving the IDDM Graham.

Hi Janet. I thought of that, but I must be up front about it, or it could invalidate the insurance. If she is driving a vehicle that she is not licenced for.
