Hi, Can anybody please tell me how to cure black streaking I wax the rubbers when I wax the rest of the motorhome but it makes no difference but as soon as it rains they come back. Thanks
Change the polish you are using and look for a polish with a high silicone content or a silicone rubber cleaner.
This should help stop the black streaks forming in the first place
Available for cleaning car rubber trim in places like Halfords
i used to use a well known caravan cleaner and it made it a lot worse, began with an F.
The streaks are most likely caused by a dirty roof. Cleaning the roof is my least favourite job as ours is like ice when it is wet. (i take a piece of none-slip matting up to stand / kneel on)
Once the roof is clean you will get far less streaks.

as motorhomeguy said most of the dirt is from the roof. I do have reservations about using "black streak removal" liquids as you are never sure how harsh the chemicals are. What I recommend to my customers once I have removed all blacks streaks is to wash the van using any auto wax wash then use a liquid wax on the black streaks. This method means that any protection on the van is not removed along with the black streaks
