Having spent the morning on the phone to various insurance companies seem to be getting nowhere.
We are having a T5 Transporter panel van converted to a camper. However, it is being done by a small local firm and not on the "approved" list that most insurers appear to have so that means many I have called won't insure.
Then we also want to go travelling around Europe. We are not sure for how long etc but would like a minimum of 240 days cover, plus breakdown cover. Again finding many only offer 90 days and then you have to ring to extend but they cannot give costs as to what extending will be.
So far have tried:
Adrianflux -only 90 days cover, ring to extend
Caravanguard - no
Shield - yes 240 days
comfort-insurance - no (and completely useless)
safeguard - no
Scenic - 365 days but very very expensive (still £200 more for 240 days than Shield)
Try Lifesure 01480 402460 just insured car with them got it £89 cheaper than Saga and better cover, car & house keys covered free up to £300, free windows up to £200, Had van insured by them so got a further 10% off
