Hi again,

I posted a while ago asking for advice on a camper I'd seen. Thanks very much everyone for the help.

I've found another one, ( only 20 miles away), it's on gumtree,   item number. 1101196275, toyota hiace 4x4 poptop camper.

Could anyone help me out again please and tell me what they think of it and the price? Should I hold out for a custom cruiser? (I've waited this long! ).

Here's the answers to most of my questions:

for the price it looks good though as stated body work looks a bit rough ..at this price its to be expected but its always hard to judge from photos, ... the 2.8 4x4 auto will drink fuel..your looking at high 20s mpg on the motorway and low 20s to high teens in town...?

great vans though ..I loved mine :)

Can you post a link? I can't find it from the info you give. Sounds like its had a fair bit of mechanical work to keep the wheels turning which is main concern when buying an older vehicle, so could be worth a punt.

Interior pics look tidy enough, if its the van you want then probably as good as any in the price range. Japanese import so I presume you have done some research about parts availability etc? There is a Hiace forum perhaps it would be a good idea to post on there for adivce if you have not already done so.

Oldmansea do you have any photos and how many people does it seat? We are in the market for a seven/eight seater which me and my husband can sleep in with a 7 and 8 year old in the roof???
