hi we are trying to buy a swift kontiki motorhome just phoned dvla they said its not registered as a motor home yet the guy we are buying it from says its on the log book as a motorhome we have had problems with another swift kontiki a few days ago and ended up loosing it has anyone else had any problems thanks

The possible reason it is not registered as a motorhome that 26yrs ago with law slightly different it could have been registered as commercial vehicle & is still registered as this. Shouldn't be a problem but it would be advisable anyway to do your own HPI check. Google for HPI website & you can do online check £19.99. This checks if vehicle has been stolen, still subject to HP etc so should be done on any secondhand vehicle you are paying a few grand for.
