Hi guys

can anybody tell me where abouts the water filter is on this van- its got the whale watermaster system which has the square plug that goes into the side of the van... ive looked everywhere, there is a carbon grit filter which is before the smartflo pump to stop any grit getting in the punp, but i`m sure there should be a filter to make the water safe to drink??

I believe filters are not fitted as standard but are an option. People have various methods of using onboard water. http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/water-tank/37806/

A filter doesn't make the water safe to drink, it only protects the water system from unwanted particles reaching the water taps. To make the water safe for drinking you need to sterilise the system with an appropriate sterilising solution such as Puriclean. Water filters are not an important commodity so some manufacturers excluded them because they can cause problems in winter regarding frozen water therefore it may not have one.

Hi Dave'..

So is this "carbon grit filter" something which you've read(in the handbook?)that your van actually has?....or just something that you were expecting to be there?..

To my knowledge, other than maybe the odd bit of gauze in a fitting or a tap, none of our motorhomes  had additional filters...
