I agree with you Pepe63, I always leave home with at least half a tank of water especially on UK sites where filling up invariably involves blocking the road and the taps have very little pressure meaning you block the road for a long time. So i prefer to arrive with 1/2 a tank and then top up with a watering can,

We always travel with full freshwater tank as one of the joys of motorhoming is being able to park anywhere and be self-sufficient without being on an official site. It seems to make no difference to fuel consumption.
We have done exactly the same. Went for the Autograph rear lounge a few weeks ago.
While on the essentials we took a watering can, this is only any good for filling the toilet.the fresh water tank has a special hose fitting that has to be filled from a tap.
