We took delivery of our new motorhome 3 weeks ago..... after a weeks hol where just about everything went wrong we were hit on a roundabout with a car. I won't bore you with the details but needless to say we say it was his fault and vice versa !.
My question is does anyone know how much about, it will increase our insurance !!?

Dunno if you know but if subject to an insurance claim the vehicle will lose value roughly 25% and if wish to trade in you could encounter difficulties. You should claim for loss of value.

It sounds like your respective insurers will settle knock for knock, it shouldn't affect your no claims. Your insurance premium will not increase while it is current. When you need to renew then shop around for cheapest quote & it is unlikely you will pay anymore than this year.

Obviously you will have to declare the claim but provided you shop around then you should find a cheaper quote. Your renewal from your existing insurer will of course be loaded because of the claim but find a cheaper quote & go with them if your current insurer won't price match your cheapest quote.

This is how it's done, always shop around at renewal time for both vehicle & home insurance. If you don't & just pay renewal premium from existing insurer they will simply load the premium year on year whether you claim or not.

Not according to Confused.com!

"If I make a claim, how is my NCB affected?

If you make a claim on your policy where your insurer pays out, you’ll generally lose some, or all, of your no-claims bonus.

But if you’re hit by another car and it’s agreed that you weren’t at fault, your insurer may be able to reclaim the payout from the other car’s insurer and your NCB may not be affected.

In cases where fault can’t be agreed on, insurers may split the cost of the claims and both drivers’ NCB could be affected. This includes if your car is stolen or damaged by bad weather.

well having just renewed my insurance after a £5,490.86 claim, due to hailstone damage (they were the size of walnuts)300 dents,my premium went up £25. Do be aware tho all you motor vehicle insurances will be loaded for the next 5 years i.e cars motorbikes as it is not just your motorhome policy that gets affected
