Any campervanners out there using a porta potti? we have had the van for a few years but always stay on campsites with facilities.

Now want to stay in the new forest and need to have our own toilet, so it looks like the porta potti is going to be coming down from the loft..just wondering if anyone has any tips on using said device?

We will set up a small toilet tent, to spare our blushes..

I'd put a bit of silicone spray or olive oil on the blade. Don't bother with pink for top tank, plain water works for me & cheapest blue in the bottom or use cheap supermkt brand bio washing liquid. If it's leaking through the drain button when you carry bottom tank to tip then that bit is available as spare from caravan shop, easy to replace.

We bring it inside at night in our dandy. I rigged up a curtain on a rail which simply hooks over a couple of S hooks from the roof. The pole is from an old awning. It saves going out at night.

The toilet tent should be fine by day though.

Ive mentioned it before on this forum but pop-a-loo are a great eco friendly alternative to the chemical toilets. simple easy and no mess.

Before you go buying chemicals you should note that some of the Camping in the Forest sites only allow eco chemicals.
