My 1997 MK5 Transit 2.5 Tdi AutoSleeper Duetto has while getting ready for MoT, started a problem whereby will not go past idling after startng. Touch the throttle and it stalls. If anyone has had this problem, and overcome it, I'd be glad to know how.
DO not quote me, but it sounds like the THROTTLE housing could be jammed shut, hence it will not rev up and engine dying out as no fuel is going through, hope you get iot sorted,
Thanks wineciccio. It was going fine with regular start-ups. I can't imagine it's anything major, but allowing the local Mot garage to collect it as they suggested, I'm sure they'll find something seriously expensive! Someone suggested the throttle sensor but again one needs someone with a code reader and the code.
