I own a Bessacarr E540 and although I cannot find any reference to it in the owners manual I believe that the central heating will not work unless I have at least a half full tank of fresh water in the reservoir. Is this true? It maybe the reason my heating isn't working.

It depends on what heating system you have. I could understand the hot water not working but that shouldn't affect the heating side. What system have you got?
