A friend of mine went to view a 90s Talbot motorhome last night. While they where looking it over they noticed this unusual bit on the side panel just above and behind the cab. There is one either side. Anyone know what they are for?

I have never seen anything like that before, although I have seen panels similar.Perhaps, like ones I have seen in the past, the body was holed and it has been put on both sides to give a balanced look. I would be tempted to carefully check directly behind them.
Did they not ask?.

Looks like a repair. I suggest your friend does a damp test on the bodywork. It could be riddled with damp. This could be true of any older coachbuilt motorhome though.
