Ladies and gentlemen.
SWMBO and I are considering a move to the dark side, and getting a motorised caravan thing, I think you lot call them a motorhome.
We are thinking of SKI and getting a new one, SWMBO does love expensive new things 😮. We have seen one we like with free Hab AC in the package (although I doubt it is free in reality) So, my question is this, is it realy necessary, or will a fan do the job. We would travel to the hotter parts of Europe.
Cheers.

If you are travelling to Spain in July and August you would be very uncomfortable without AC. Even now in L'Estartit it's too hot at 36c

wouldn't be without Habitation aircon especially in hot weather , last year we experienced 39C in Provence unbearably humid and hot even at 2 am it was 29c .
our roof mounted unit kept the interior at a pleasant 20c even on the lowest speed setting

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Thanks for helping out with the acronyms guys, sorry I thought they were well known.
SKI: Spending kids inheritance.
SWMBO: She who must be obeyed.
Yes, I would not like to be without AC in hot climes, so it makes total sense to go with it.
Thanks.

One thing to bear in mind is that most AC units will only work whilst you're on EHU. So will you be mostly staying on sites (with EHU) or will you be wild camping and/or staying on aires and thus relying on your battery?
I believe you can get 12v evaporative coolers (which are often sold as aircon) - but these are only usually effective in hot dry heat, not much good in hot humid places.
I think you need to find out more about which model they are offering, and think about how you will use your van before making a decision.
