Hi all,   My question is what does (whichever one you use) actually do?
is it for keeping the smells down. for hygene. breaking down or what?
different people seem to use different things. The "blue" seems to be a standard but then there's "green" which I gather can be disposed of in a
normal toilet then there's a multitude of other things including "softener" of all things, your thoughts please.

I use cheap supermarket bio laundry liquid. The enzymes break down the toxins in the poo to make it harmless to the environment and septic tanks [allegedly] .
It also smells nice and is cheap.

Blue contains formaldehyde which preserves the poo and kills bacteria. It will also kill bacteria in septic tanks. Septic tanks need bacteria to work.

Green fluids work in different ways either breaking down or preserving, depending on the brand / type.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Not trying to hijack topic but as its on a similar theme here goes. Does anyone put anything in their wastehog to keep it clean? Even though we empty it regularly (more so in France) it does get smelly and not easy to clean out. Was considering using a cheap laundry liquid tab...would this be okay?

I just use a cheap branded disinfectant diluted with water to clean my Wastemaster internally once in a while and at the end of the season use diluted Zoflora instead which adds a nice aroma whilst left in storage during the winter. When opened at the beginning of the next season you are presented with a nice smell. The waste tank doesn't need to be chemically clean so anything to keep the bacteria at bay will do.
