Woke up in the middle of last night whilst in our Bessacarr E410 in the Peak District to the strong smell of rotting cabbage.
On investigating where it was coming from its emanating from a warm leisure battery. The other leisure battery is fine.
Anyone know what's going on? We were connected to a mains hook up so I'm guessing its overcharged but would have thought there would be something in place to stop that happening.
Not too old then. I would disconnect both and monitor their voltages if the one getting hot drops to below 12.6v in 24 hours it's faulty.
What voltage does your charger give out on float charge?
Hopefully you disconnected straight away
You may of lost a cell in the older battery this will quickly bring the second battery down and you could possibly end up with two destroyed batteries
I'd be taking the mh down to a good battery sales place to get it checked
