Hi folks. I'm a new member so please let me introduce myself. I am the owner of a 1985 VW T25 campervan. I renovated it after it had been stood for around 10 years. Many bruised knuckles and wallet robbing moments later I have a van which I am proud of. It's an ongoing project though. I'm 65 years old and although I retired last year I still work in a job I love. I have 10 grandchildren but only one of them is really into the camping scene. My wife is a little reluctant to go camping but humours me!! I don't really like these big, hectic camp sites such as Haven etc so I am always looking out for small farm type camp sites. Does anybody know of any in the Yorkshire area, preferably with 10 mile or so of the coast? I'm also interested in pub stay sites. Happy camping folks.

Can I suggest using Camp Site Search, selecting "Club CL/CS" (and any other requirements)?
These are "5-van" Certificated Locations (authorised by the Caravan And Motorhome Club - formerly Caravan Club) and Certificated Sites (of the Camping and Caravanning Club) open only to members of the respective Club. Many are basic and may only have a drinking water tap, a Chemical Disposal Point and refuse disposal, others may have additional facilities, most are inexpensive but you will have to take the club membership fee(s) into account, of course.
There's also Brit Stops, which I understand is a annual directory of pubs etc which accept overnight motorhomes or campervans belonging to their customers.
And if you search the web you should be able to find a list of motorhome stopovers where you can park overnight, sometimes without charge.
Hi and welcome!
We like the Coachman at Snainton (pub next door)
Serenity at Hinderwell (pub in village and in walk-able Runswick Bay)
Calder farm in Bolton by Bowland CS site on a working farm.
Britstops are good for pub stays (one night only and some have no facilities at all so you will need your own) The annual membership starts every February or March so have a look in the new year to get your money's worth!
