I have a 1992 talbot express motorhome with a carver 2 water heater that when I push down the button I get clicking then gas lights then back to red. I took the cowl off and it does light but then goes out. This suggests its not seeing the flame so wanted to remove the module and burner to clean up and then if it doesn't work get it sorted. I undid the screws and the module comes loose but the smaller side although is loose wont come out. I've never seen a module before so could be wrong but looking through the gap it looks melted. I've no idea what to do now. Any advice will be great as I need to get it out to clean or send to arcsystems
Ours gas element was corroded. Smell of gas outside the van. As far as I know, Carver isn't made any more - we had to fit a new replica heater (a Henry, other heaters are available as far as I know from the many other threads on this topic). But the part you need might be available again.
Have a look on eBay as there are quite often used Carver burner modules for sale. Not quite sure what bit you mean is melted - burner or control board.
The Carver in my old van became unreliable over the years and needed several attempts to get it to stay lit.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Contact Gary at Arc Systems in Nottingham (www.arcsystems.biz) as there are several burner modules for Carver Water Heaters although they all look physically the same. He will be able to guide you and probably repair your current module for you.
Its certainly going to be the gas module there are a couple of types but as Kontiki man says Arc systems should have on or repair yours.
One has round din plug the other a flat plug.
there are only 2 small screws holding it in and the plugs so it should come out easily.
