Hi, we've just bought a motorhome after years of tenting. It has a toilet waste disposal system that cannot be removed, it has no removable cassette. To empty it we are supposed to drive over a 'hole' pull the lever and hey presto. Having gone to or first campsite this weekend it was an issue as there was no said hole in the ground . We got round it by not using our loo, but this defeats the object. Has anyone ever experienced this and is there an easy soltuion? Many thanks
Im not a motorhome expert but a caravanner but so far as I understand it the motorhome point (hole in ground) is for grey waste ie washing up water / shower water etc as motorhomes tend to have inbuilt tanks for this which cant be removed for emptying hence the pipe with lever to empty them in the campsites motorhome point. Not all campsites have one so you may have to hang on to it until you find a site with a suitable facility.
Toilet waste is ALWAYS disposed of via the sites CDP. Your inbuilt loo will have external access to fill the flush tank with pink and water and have a locker giving access to a removable cassette which will need charging with chemical (usually blue) and water).
It might be worth your while driving to a motorhome dealer and asking them where things are on your model. You could probably download a manual from the manufacturers website or post on here make and model and someone on here is sure to be able to point you in the right direction
I think you have to have a word with the campsite you are visiting. There will be drain covers over the sewage system and perhaps they will be willing to lift these covers to enable you to empty your toilet.
After motorhoming and caravaning for 15 years I find it very hard to believe you don't have a removable cassette for the toilet. I've never seen anywhere that you can drive over to release black waste, only for grey waste. In fact I can't imagine the mess it might create due to any splashback. Might be worth putting this post in the motorhome section.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
David8858, the OP's motorhome is a Mobilvetta Yacht, unfortunately we don't know the year.
Google images shows varying ages of this type of motorhome with the standard type cassette door. Although it all depends which side it's photographed from.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Think that vehicle does have a black tank rather than a cassette. Since few uk campsites have us style drive over points might need to buy a caravan style waste wheelie. Empty waste from tank to wheelie. Wheelie to disposal point.
I've no first hand experience of "bulk" black waste tanks..but I always thought that with such things, the waste was "pumped" out?..and then flushed through by using the "grey waste"? (yank RV style)Obviously not..
But if this is just a "black" waste collection tank that is emptied via gravity alone, and with no means of flushing it through( other than repeated flushes?)how would you get it clean?..."Grey" waste tanks can stink bad enough, if not flushed through properly, never mind "black" waste!
Or do they have a flush-through inlet, for cleaning?
(I have seen(online) "adapters" that allow the decanting of black waste tanks, into normal cassettes for emptying...the likes of CAK(no pun intended)Tanks will probably do them).
I think that type of system is quite common on American RV's. If you look on YouTube you will find videos of tank emptying. I seem to recall that they flush the grey water through the black water tank to clean it?
Wow, thank you for all of your responses. It definitely doesn't have a removable cassette, sadly. The seller said, yeah no problem you just drive over and poof, it's gone. He did a lot of European travelling though and I have seen the drive over black waste system myself on some french campsites. We have a pipe which we can guide it to a 'hole' but the campsite we just went to was raised. Grrr. Anyway I think for the moment we will have to pipe it into a portable waste thing. I'll get in toch with a Mobilvetta dealer too, hadn't thought of that... Doh?! Thank you so much, some great advice.

Thanks Pepe, will search that one up. Great advice
Hi again..
To be honest, I'm not sure what the actual benefit of those adapters that mate to cassettes, really are? -
If they included a cradle, into which you slid the cassette, and in doing so it lined up and connected to the outlet on the black tank(as per a cassette toilet)- then fair enough.
But if it's only the "connecting" bit of pipe/fitting, then you may as well just use your existing pipe and "decant" into an easy to lug, easy to store container..?
Either way, it's not really ideal for the UK, where you can consider yourself lucky if you get a drive-over "grey waste" point.
cannot see how your going to use aires if you go abroad without having problems as most just have a dumping point for toilet waste where you tip your cassette out and not drive over facilities except for grey water
