Hello all,
After an informative trip to hillside leisure in derby yest I think we have narrowed down our base van to a Renault Trafic/Vauxhall Vivaro. For the features we like a second hand one is not hard but not easy to find. The hubster man also wants to buy from a dealer rather than private for a bit more security.
So, we are chatting around the idea of buying a van and having it converted. We don’t have the time, skills or health to do it ourselves but where do we chose and how?
Hillside do lovely conversions but cost from £19k +vat, whereas some people advertise their services from £6-7k and clearcut conversions are somewhere in between. What determines a £19k conversion? Quality? extras? Just coz they can?
We’re selling our truck and this will be our only vehicle and an investment in family life so we’re not on a shoestring but eaqually don’t wanna fork out thousands we dont need to.
So any recommendations? We live on the Oxfordshire, Northants, Warwickshire border. I guess distance is a consideration as Derby was 1.5hr yest so far if we want to go back for habitation checks or problems.
Many thanks in advance to all you lovely people.

I was recommended New Dawn Conversions on the bongo fury website. Their prices are good and the guy has got back to me several times very quickly to answer queries. I don't k ow if they only convert Bongos/Alphard etc but maybe worth a look?

These folk are very good, been in business some years now. Very good reviews. In central area you require as well.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. We’re in the process of checking them out.
Meanwhile, further than we wanted to go but has anyone had dealings with either revampavan in Christchurch or key camper conversions in hull?
Many thanks,
H
Just spent two hours with Mike at big v. They were great. Still planning to see revampavan next week but to be honest we loved big v.
Question still remains, has any one any reviews on revampavan?
Wot many thanks
