Can anyone help me please, firstly let me say that i am a complete technophobe and expect things to work when connected together as diagrams show, now to my problem,
I need a satellite engineer in east anglia who can set up and configure my set-up, which is:
Trac-vision R4SL dome, brought second hand
Openbox satellite FTA receiver
Avtex TV.
I saw the dome working whilst connected to a TV with built-in sat receiver, and all was fine,
now i have all of mine connected the dome just continually searches.

I imagine the dish has a control panel inside the van on which you select the satellite? It should be set to Astra 28.2. You then have to tune the TV in. Some, but not all, Avtex TV's have built in satellite receivers. If it can't find the satellite it could be for several reasons. The most obvious is that the Dome does not have a clear view of the sky to the south/east. If the control panel is set to the right satellite it is possible that the satellite system needs a software upgrade as satellite transmissions change now and then. To get the software update you would need to contact the makers via their website. Its usually a fairly simple process to upgrade. If you want to take it to a professional I would suggest speaking to your nearest motorhome dealer to see who they use.
