Hi, I'm not new to 'motorhoming' but I am new to 'campervanning' where besides the size most things are not 'just there to switch on' for you.
so to the telly-is there any quality of picture between a mains and 12v telly ?
what will I need to buy to get a good picture (Ariel's boosters etc) have always been fitted as standard.
I just don't want to spend a lot of money on summat that doesn't do the job-I consider 12v cos we have 2 12v sockets and 2 mains sockets ?-I see outfits with all sorts of kit from arials on roofs/poles and even satellites I just don't know where to begin-any advice really appreciated Kim

Modern TVs work on DC internally anyway so youll notice no difference with a 12v one. Id look at Cello if I were you the cheapie ALDI / Lidl ones draw more current if your running on battery than the Cello but then again the Cello doesnt carry the hefty price tag of the Avtex which are good gear.

Now that the digital switchover is complete you won’t need a fancy high gain aerial in most places a good set top one for 20 quid tops will do.

We had a celco TV because it was dual voltage, however the picture quality unless straight on dead center was hopeless, all dark and shadows. As we have always been on mains hook up bought a standard hitachi TV for mains voltage and the picture is viewable from any angle. As to the Aerial we bought a small square one from B and M with a booster included, I glued two strips if velcro on the back of the aerial and just positioned it by moving it around and sticking it to the headlining on our camper van. You need good velcro and good glue, I used a hot glue gun. Worked a treat and got good reception with little movement required of aerial. Hope this helps you decide.

I fully intend to use it sometime, we always take a few DVD`s away with us but just never get round to watching any of them. I didn`t think I was being sanctimonious.
