Hi guys , when buying my 1st motorhome this summer I remember the salesman telling me the importance of draining the water system when winter hits us.
I recently drained my system but now having taken his advice I was wondering that I have left my 2 drain taps in the open position, do I leave them where they are or return the drain levers as if I were going to refill position ? Any advice campers.

Leave them in the open position, turn taps and shower on full in the middle position and any water in the pipelines will drain.
If Submersible pump is fitted make sure that the pump is switched off.

John.

The pump needs to be dry also, not holding water within it, before or after it.
If you have a hot water (tank) boiler this also must be devoid of water.
After removing all of the water possible, it might be a good idea to travel in the van with all taps, valves and drain pipes open. This will jiggle any remaining water out of the system. The plus points of a drive out, it is good for the whole van, engine, tyres, batteries etc.
