Hi, our motorhone is a P reg peugeot wanderer with a saggy floor. Age and condition would suggest professional repair as being false economy. I'd like to try and sort this myself and wondered if anyone could offer some advice.
I initially suspected that the ply wood floor had delaminated and become spongy. Having got the carpet up I find the floor is spongy where two sheets of ply are joined. I was surprised to find the ply was only approx 1/4 inch thick and not delaminated. Underneath is a white sheet which I suspect is some sort of insulation board. Not sure how the ply is secured to the floor but I suspect it is glued. Ideally I'd like to remove the ply so I can determine what the floor has a soft spot but I'd like an idea of how the floor might be constructed so I know what I'm dealing with. I can't see why the floor has gone soft. We have had a couple of short term water issues which have been fixed but as there is no obvious delamination I'm at a loss as to what has caused the floor to become spongy. This is all new to me so I'm hoping for some constructive thoughts.

Welcome to UKCS.
The name didn't mean anything to me, I see on Autotrader that it's an Autohomes model. I'm sure you'll get some advice soon from others here on UKCS but if you Google on the full model name + the floor problem, it comes up on several other websites where owners are looking to sort problems. One mentioned the soggy floor, but it was a different model of Autohomes so the cause might not have been the same.

i did check youtube before posting, it wasnt just a guess - there are lots of videos showing various repairs to floors. most floor repairs are generic as they tend to be due to delamination, so they dont need to be vehicle specific

If you need information on caravan floor delamination repairs you need to enter the right information on the Google thing that you refer to. You're wasting your time if you are asking about motorhome floor delamination as the results are going to be far less as the floor construction is exactly the same. I successfully did a floor delamination on my previous caravan and I found loads of information on the topic so you obviously haven't done enough research yourself before asking the question on this forum. Youtube is a good place to start.

You haven't wasted anybody's time as asking questions is exactly what the forum is about but at least you now have the correct advice to conduct your search. However, the topic of caravan floor delamination has been raised many times in the past so if you also do a search on here you will find plenty of advice on offer regarding dowel size, positioning and the type of resin used as there is a one shot resin or a twin pack mix.
