Hi,any help appreciated.
We have a chance of an 2004 with 128,500miles on the clock for £16,500.
It would be our first campervan.
Should we grab it or stay clear?
128,500 miles!! That's 5 times round the world. It's the sort of mileage that would do in a car - about 8k - 9k a year. A reasonable mileage for a camper would be half that. Looking at Autotrader, there are a number of similar examples with a fraction of that mileage.
When we were looking for a new van, we had a look at a 'Symbol' and was very disappointed. Autosleeper used to have a very good reputation, but the one we looked at had obviously been leaking round the seam there the high top attaches. I have heard of other cases with similar water ingress.
Personally, I would walk away from that one, but I might well look at other newer/ lower mileage examples.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Our 1993 Autosleeper (Clubman) hadn’t done nearly much that when we PX’d it in 2018. 25 years old, £6K.
To be fair, plastic & metal & rubber etc age at x rate per annum so an old low mileage MH can have different problems to a newer higher mileage MH. Balance issues with the MH itself against problems with the vehicle, floorpan, engine etc. But I agree with others, that’s too high mileage. There’ll be others, let that one go.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
